Areas of Practice

Marta Krason is a law clerk in the intellectual property (IP) transactions practice group. She draws on her engineering background and experience handling complex patent disputes to assess IP issues and support transactions involving the acquisition, licensing, and commercialization of IP assets.

Prior to joining IP transactions, Marta worked in the IP litigation practice group, where she gained experience analyzing patent eligibility, infringement, and validity issues. In that role, she supported complex patent matters in federal district courts, including patent-centric forums such as the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, as well as before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and International Trade Commission (ITC), across a range of technical areas, such as cellular and wireless communications, semiconductors, computer software, network security, automotive powertrain technology, and mobile payment systems. Marta’s experience spans multiple phases of IP litigation, from pre-suit investigations through trial preparation, including work leading up to the eve of trial.

Marta earned her law degree from the University of Chicago Law School, where she served as an editor of the Law Review and worked part-time as an IP technical advisor at Ropes & Gray. Before entering the legal field, Marta was a hardware engineer in Silicon Valley, where she contributed to the development of next-generation display and haptic technologies for consumer electronics.
