Julia Luther (Nelson) is an associate in the asset management group of Ropes & Gray. Her practice primarily focuses on private investment funds, hedge funds, and their advisers in connection with various formation, fundraising, regulatory, and compliance matters. Julia also maintains an active pro bono practice regarding various immigration matters. 

During law school, Julia served as an articles’ editor for the Columbia University Journal of Gender and Law and worked as a research assistant to Contracts Professor Elizabeth F. Emens. Julia also worked with the Immigrants' Rights Clinic to represent asylees and to assist with impact litigation regarding the treatment of child immigrant detainees. Julia served as a teaching assistant to the clinic and won The Clinical Legal Education Association's 'Outstanding Clinical Team Award.'
