Serah Lawal joined Ropes & Gray’s New York office in 2025 in the tax, employment, and benefits department. She assists with a range of transaction and regulatory matters, including private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and portfolio company matters.

Since joining the firm, Serah has supported various matters by conducting due diligence, assisting with transaction documentation, and helping coordinate deal execution. Her experience spans a range of industries, including life sciences, consulting, marketing, and consumer brands.

During law school, Serah served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Regina A. Scannicchio, Acting Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, where she conducted legal research, drafted memoranda, and observed courtroom proceedings. She also served as a staff editor for the Northwestern Journal of Law and Social Policy.

In addition, Serah was a student attorney in the Children and Family Justice Clinic, where she assisted in representing clients in family matters and supported client counseling and court advocacy efforts under supervision.
