Tim Larimer directs the firm’s marketing and communications initiatives. He leads a global team of public relations, editorial, business proposal, creative design and marketing technology professionals.
Teams under Tim’s direction are responsible for media relations, including traditional business and legal press, online and social media, directories and rankings. He also oversees print and electronic marketing initiatives, including the website.
Tim was an established journalist before transitioning to a career in law firm communications and marketing. His journalism career took him around the world, with postings and assignments in Silicon Valley, Washington, D.C., Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea.
He worked as a reporter, writer and editor for more than 15 years, most recently at Time magazine, where he served stints as both the Tokyo bureau chief and the Southeast Asia bureau chief, based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Tim was a member of the staff at the San Jose Mercury News that won a Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of the Loma Prieta earthquake. He also has written for the New York Times, Washington Post, and The Economist, and he produced radio stories for the “The World,” a PRI-BBC international news program.
He earned a BS in journalism from Northwestern University and an MA in journalism from Columbia University, where he was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow. Tim also earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.
