Chris has extensive experience representing companies and individuals in all types of civil litigation matters, including securities and antitrust class actions, complex commercial disputes, and constitutional law disputes. He has represented U.S. and non-U.S. clients from a range of industries, including financial services, entertainment, energy, technology, and daily fantasy sports, in numerous jurisdictions and at both the trial and appellate levels. He has litigated on both the plaintiff and defense side in state and federal court.
Experience
- Representing a syndicate of underwriters in securities class action challenging statements made by a large insurance company in connection with its IPO. The purported class of shareholders asserted claims under Section 11 of the Securities Act against the underwriters, the insurance company, and certain of the insurance company’s directors.
- Represented a large financial institution in connection with all civil litigation arising out of alleged LIBOR manipulation, alleging antitrust, commodities manipulation, and other claims.*
- Represented a large financial institution in connection with civil litigation arising out of the servicing of its residential mortgage loan portfolio.*
- Represented a major multinational energy provider in connection with several consumer class actions alleging deceptive pricing for energy services related to variable rate energy contracts.*
- Represented Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. before New York appellate court (First Department), securing reversal of preliminary injunction enjoining Madison Square Garden’s enforcement of highly publicized exclusion policy. Victory recognized in The American Lawyer feature article.*
- Represented Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. in appeal before New York appellate court (First Department) granting petition to quash investigatory subpoena issued by the New York State Liquor Authority for lack of statutory authority.*
- Represented a large financial institution in connection with civil litigation arising out of allegations of market manipulation.*
