Dan Mitchell is a funds attorney in Ropes & Gray’s asset management group, initially joining the firm as an associate in 2012. Dan primarily advises private fund investors on a wide variety of investment issues surrounding fund formation, secondaries, restructurings and co-investments across buyout, hedge, venture, credit, real estate, evergreen and other hybrid funds, and is regularly involved in navigating complex issues for long-standing client relationships. Dan’s clients include university endowments, private foundations, sovereign investors, funds-of-funds, family offices and high-net worth investors. During law school, Dan served as a note editor of the Boston College Law Review, and prior to joining Ropes & Gray, he clerked with the Honorable Barbara S. Jones, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
