Michael McGuigan is a partner in the firm’s finance practice, bringing more than 20 years of experience advising clients on fund finance and transportation infrastructure development and finance transactions.

Michael advises fund clients across a broad spectrum of fund finance matters, including subscription credit facilities; hybrid facilities; NAV solutions for secondaries acquisitions, CVs and fund recapitalizations; asset-backed facilities for direct lending and credit fund platforms; management company and GP co-invest facilities; and liquidity facilities for onshore and offshore retail fund products. Recognized for his deep knowledge of the fund finance market and his commitment to client service, Michael is dedicated to providing strategic, commercial solutions that help clients navigate complexity and achieve their goals in a dynamic and expanding market.

Michael also has significant experience advising project companies, leading airlines and other stakeholders on the development and financing of major U.S. infrastructure projects. Michael has played an instrumental role in the development and financing of over $8 billion of projects at Terminals 1, 4 and 8 at JFK International Airport and Delta Air Lines’ new $4 billion Terminal C/D at LaGuardia Airport, as well as the redevelopment of the World Trade Center in New York City.

  • HarbourVest Partners, as borrower counsel in multiple fund finance transactions, representing billions of dollars in financing and liquidity solutions for a wide range of HarbourVest-managed funds across diverse investment strategies and structures.*
  • PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential Financial, as borrower counsel for the subscription-based and asset-backed financing of various PGIM-managed funds, spanning direct lending, corporate mezzanine, large cap and energy mezzanine strategies.*
  • A global private markets investment firm, as borrower counsel for multiple subscription, NAV, and hybrid credit facilities for various funds, spanning private equity, secondaries, and real estate strategies.*

Infrastructure Financing

  • JFK International Air Terminal as lessee, developer and operator of Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport, including in connection with multiple expansion and redevelopment projects and the issuance of billions of dollars of tax exempt and taxable special project bonds and refunding bonds.*
  • Delta Air Lines in its redevelopment and financing of Terminals C and D at LaGuardia Airport.*
  • American Airlines in its development and expansion of Terminal 8 at JFK International Airport, including the issuance of billions of dollars of tax exempt special project bonds to finance and refinance terminal projects.*
  • American Airlines in the offering of over $400 million of special facility revenue bonds issued by the Tulsa Municipal Airport Trust.*
