Molly Moore is counsel in the asset management group. Molly's practice focuses on advising hedge funds, investment advisers, mutual funds, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and other institutional investors on derivatives and trading arrangements. She has advised clients regarding cleared and uncleared derivatives and trading, brokerage and custody arrangements, and related regulatory matters. Molly also has experience advising investment companies, their independent directors, and investment advisers on a variety of transactional, regulatory, and compliance matters, with a focus on issues arising in connection with use of derivatives. With an exclusive focus on representing buy-side investors, Molly draws on deep knowledge of trading agreement terms and regulatory considerations to provide practical, customized advice to each client to support the client’s goals and priorities.

A significant portion of Molly’s practice involves advising institutional investors – including college and university endowments, foundations and family offices – on a wide range of investment matters, such as investment management, custody and derivatives and trading arrangements. Working closely with colleagues in Ropes & Gray’s tax, benefits, higher education and asset management practice areas, Molly also has experience working with colleges and universities and family offices to structure their investment management services in support of the broader missions of their respective institutions.

Molly also has experience forming and providing ongoing advice regarding corporate governance matters to tax-exempt entities. She has served as outside counsel for a D.C.-based organization focused on increasing government transparency since its inception in 2009.

  • Advises many “buy side” clients, including hedge funds, mutual funds, investment advisers, endowments and foundations with respect to laws and regulations governing derivatives trading, including the Dodd-Frank Act.
  • Regularly advises many “buy side” clients, including a number of university endowments, on the negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements, master confirmation agreements, custody agreements, triparty agreements for collateral, Master Repurchase Agreements, Global Master Repurchase Agreements, securities lending agreements, derivatives clearing agreements, prime brokerage agreements and other trading documentation.
