Snaebjorn Valur Olafsson joined the finance group in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Snaebjorn worked as an attorney at a leading law firm in Iceland and as an assistant lecturer at the University of Iceland. During this time Snaebjorn gained experience in banking, corporate and project finance, cross-border transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
Snaebjorn earned his Bachelor of Laws and Magister Juris (J.D. Equivalent) from the University of Iceland. Snaebjorn completed his LL.M. at Duke University School of Law, where he received Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. During law school in Iceland, Snaebjorn worked as a paralegal at a leading law firm in Iceland. He also served as an international secretary for the Association of Law Students at the University of Iceland and on the editorial board of Úlfljótur Law Review.
