Snaebjorn Valur Olafsson joined the finance group in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Snaebjorn worked as an attorney at a leading law firm in Iceland and as an assistant lecturer at the University of Iceland. During this time Snaebjorn gained experience in banking, corporate and project finance, cross-border transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.

Snaebjorn earned his Bachelor of Laws and Magister Juris (J.D. Equivalent) from the University of Iceland. Snaebjorn completed his LL.M. at Duke University School of Law, where he received Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. During law school in Iceland, Snaebjorn worked as a paralegal at a leading law firm in Iceland. He also served as an international secretary for the Association of Law Students at the University of Iceland and on the editorial board of Úlfljótur Law Review

  • Advised Monarch Master Funding 2 (Luxembourg) S.à r.l in connection with Boparan Finance plc’s private placement of £50 million Senior Secured Notes.
  • Advised BAML, JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs along with other banks in connection with an offering by ConvaTec
  • Advised on a Senior Secured Notes offering by Altice France S.A., which included a dollar and euro issuance totaling US$3 billion (equivalent)
  • Advised Altice France S.A. on the issuance of US$2.5 billion and €400 million Senior Secured Notes.
  • Advised Goldman Sachs and other banks on the €709 million equivalent senior secured notes offering by Oriflame Investment Holding plc, as well as an amendment to the accompanying €100 million super senior RCF
  • Advised VodafoneZiggo on a US$200 million privately placed tap of its existing dollar denominated Senior Secured Notes.
