Daniel Putnam joined Ropes & Gray’s litigation and enforcement practice group in 2025. Prior to joining Ropes, he was a litigation associate in the New York office of a global law firm and a judicial clerk at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. His practice encompasses a range of matters, including complex commercial litigation, non-competition/non-solicitation disputes, and internal investigations. Daniel also maintains an active pro bono practice, including recent work on an indigenous land rights appeal before the East African Court of Justice and a campaign finance appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Daniel graduated from New York University School of Law as a Furman Scholar in 2023. Before law school, he acquired a significant background in the higher education sector, having researched and taught in the field of ethics and public policy at Dartmouth College and at the Center for Human Values at Princeton University.
