Neil Patel is an associate in Ropes & Gray's asset management group. Neil’s practice focuses on advising registered investment advisers on Advisers Act and other regulatory matters as new funds or products are launched, compliance questions arise, or new rules are adopted. He also assists in registering private fund managers as investment advisers with the SEC and developing and maintaining Advisers Act compliance programs. In addition, he frequently advises on SEC examinations. Neil also assists private fund advisers on fund formation and fundraising matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Neil interned in the Division of Enforcement of the Securities & Exchange Commission and in the Consumer Protection and Financial Enforcement Division of the New York State Department of Financial Services. Neil was a New York City Bar Association Diversity Fellow in 2020, through which he spent a summer working in the legal department of BNY Mellon. During law school, Neil was also a member of the Cardozo Law Review.
