Tessa Ptucha joined Ropes & Gray's New York office in 2023 and works in the business restructuring group.
Prior to joining the firm, Tessa graduated cum laude from The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in policy analysis and management. During law school, Tessa was an honors legal intern with the Securities and Exchange Commission in their Division of Enforcement. Tessa spent her first summer of law school as a global class action intern at Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. Tessa served as an articles editor on the Hofstra Law Review and as the director of technology for the Hofstra Law Moot Court Board. Tessa was also a civil procedure teaching assistant, a real estate research assistant, and served as the head sales representative for Kaplan, Inc. at Hofstra.
Experience
- Represented Shoes For Crews, a leading producer of non-slip shoes, in a sale to a group of its secured lenders through voluntary chapter 11 proceedings and in obtaining approximately $30 million in DIP financing from the secured lenders acquiring the business.
- Assisted team that represented ReStore Capital, LLC as administrative and collateral agent to Express, LLC, a multi-brand fashion retailer with more than 550 retail stores, in connection with (i) a prepetition second lien asset-based term loan facility and (ii) a debtor in possession financing facility provided by funds and accounts managed by ReStore Capital, Gordon Brothers and First Eagle in the chapter 11 cases of Express, LLC and certain of its affiliates.
- Assisted team that represented AccentCare in an uptier debt exchange that resulted in near-unanimous lender participation, raised $175 million of new money capital, and extended the maturity of its existing $1.3 billion of debt by two years.
