Amy Ross is Ropes & Gray’s chief legal talent officer and a member of the firm’s senior support leadership team. Amy leads a global team responsible for Ropes & Gray’s talent management initiatives for attorneys and paralegals. This includes overseeing the firm’s formal assignment system, career development programs, performance evaluations, attorney secondments and relocation, and all aspects of the firm’s worldwide recruiting efforts.
With an eye toward the future of law, the legal talent team is focused on developing the next generation of top lawyers. Under Amy’s leadership, the firm launched TrAIlblazers, a program that allows first-year associates to devote 20 percent of their billable time to learning artificial intelligence tools. Amy also worked closely with the human resources department to introduce Thrive, a first-of-a-kind initiative for junior associates centered on resilience, well-being, and developing a growth mindset. Amy has been a member of the NALP Foundation’s National Advisory Board since 2023.
Before joining Ropes & Gray, Amy was a corporate associate at another international law firm, as well as a director at a non-profit organization. She is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and Northeastern University School of Law.
