Sam joined the Silicon Valley office of Ropes & Gray in 2024 as a member of the corporate department, where his practice focuses on intellectual property transactions.
As a law student, Sam served on the board of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association and was an associate in the Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic.
Prior to law school, Sam spent four and a half years as a manufacturing test engineer at Baker Hughes. There, Sam developed and maintained automated electrical tests to support the manufacture of machinery condition monitoring systems.

- Advised Eli Lilly in a $2.5 billion agreement to acquire Scorpion Therapeutics and its PI3Kα programs, including its oral therapy STX-478, which is being tested in clinical trials for breast cancer and other advanced solid tumors.
- Advised Eli Lilly in its $1.2 billion acquisition of Ventyx Biosciences.
- Advised TriArtisan Capital Advisors in its $620 million acquisition of Denny’s Corporation.
- Advised GI Partners and TA Associates in a strategic growth investment in Egnyte, a provider of secure content collaboration and governance solutions.
- Advised Advent International in its acquisition of PatientPoint, a point-of-care digital health company.
