Courtney Sy joined Ropes & Gray’s intellectual property transactions group in 2023.

During law school, Courtney served as a senior editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. She also served as a student attorney at her law school’s Intellectual Property and Technology Legal Clinic. In her final year of law school, Courtney was an Arthur Littleton & H. Clayton Louderback Fellow legal writing instructor for first-year law students.

  • Advised New Mountain Capital in its growth investment in Office Ally, a healthcare technology company providing a suite of cloud-based clearinghouse and software solutions to healthcare providers, partners, and health plans.
  • Advised Bain Capital in a transaction to acquire PowerSchool Holdings, Inc, a leading provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education.
  • Advised TA Associates in its acquisition of the Association & Events and Nonprofit Solutions divisions from Community Brands.
  • Advised AMSTED Industries Incorporated in a $500 million issuance of 6.375% senior notes due 2033, as well as the refinancing of AMSTED's $1.4 billion credit facility and the extension of its $225 million AR securitization facility.
  • Advised McNally Capital in its investment in Jewett Automation, a leading manufacturer of filtration equipment and custom automation solutions, specializing in highly engineered, automated manufacturing and robotic systems for complex industrial applications.
  • Advised Rubicon Founders in its majority investment in Horizon Infusions, Ohio's largest network of ambulatory infusion centers.
  • Advised H.I.G. Capital in the acquisition of Best Trash, a market leading municipal solid waste platform serving the residential waste collection needs of select markets in Texas including the Greater Houston Area.
  • Advised Cardinal Health in an agreement to acquire Integrated Oncology Network (ION), an independent community oncology network, for $1.115 billion in cash.
