Paul Schuman is a third-year associate in Ropes & Gray’s real estate investments & transactions group. He advises private equity funds, institutional investors, and mortgage REITs on a wide range of complex commercial real estate equity and debt transactions, including joint ventures and co-investments, mortgage repurchase facilities, and other bespoke structured financings. His experience also includes representing clients in standard acquisitions, dispositions, and distressed real estate transactions.

Paul is the co-author of a Thomson Reuters Practical Law guide to commercial real estate law in the United States.

Paul graduated from the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law, where he served as president of the Real Estate Law Society and the Jewish Law Student Association and was a member of the Moot Court Honors Society. Prior to law school, Paul attended Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where he focused on employment law, and worked as a real estate paralegal in the New York office of another international law firm.
