Sawyer Swarek is an associate in the firm’s real estate investments & transactions group. Sawyer has represented institutional investors, private equity and credit funds, public and private REITs, and investment banks in connection with a variety of matters including real estate finance transactions, repurchase facilities, note-on-note financing transactions, mortgage and mezzanine financings, loan modifications, joint ventures, and acquisitions and dispositions of real estate across a range of asset classes including office, self-storage, mixed-use, and multi-family properties.
Prior to joining the firm in 2022, Sawyer was an associate in the commercial real estate group of a leading Canadian law firm based in Toronto.
Experience
- Represented sellers (private and public REITs and private equity and credit funds) and buyers (major commercial and investment banks) in negotiating, closing, and restructuring master repurchase facilities, note-on-note facilities, and secured warehouse facilities to finance commercial real estate loans.
- Represents Bain Capital Real Estate in evaluating, negotiating and structuring real estate investments through joint ventures with various operators and managers.
- Represents nationally recognized private equity sponsors in their acquisition and disposition of real estate across the United States.
