Sean Smith is a member of the firm’s employment, executive compensation and employee benefits practice. He regularly represents clients in connection with corporate transactions and advises on the labor and employment aspects of those transactions. He also assists employers with a wide variety of employment and executive compensation-related matters, including the drafting and negotiation of employment agreements, consulting agreements, separation agreements, commission and incentive plans, and restrictive covenant agreements.
Sean also counsels clients on a wide range of employment issues, including personnel policies, wage and hour compliance, leave and disability issues, harassment and discrimination, employee discipline and discharge, workforce reorganizations, separation agreements and issues concerning non-competes and other restrictive covenants. Additionally, Sean has extensive litigation experience, having represented employers before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and arbitrators. In particular, he has significant experience representing employers in wage and hour lawsuits, discrimination matters, whistleblower actions, and disputes concerning restrictive covenants and trade secrets.
