Abigail (Abbey) Rooney West joined Ropes & Gray in 2025 as an associate in the firm’s antitrust practice.
Prior to joining Ropes & Gray, Abbey was a Law Fellow in the Office of the General Counsel at Boston University, where she represented the university in a variety of litigation and transactional matters.
During law school, Abbey interned at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, authoring and arguing an appellate brief before the Massachusetts Appeals Court. She also interned for the Honorable Frank M. Gaziano at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Abbey served as Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University International Law Journal and participated in the Legislative Policy & Drafting Clinic, collaborating with a state representative to research proposed legislation and testifying at a congressional hearing. Additionally, she represented Boston University as a member of its team at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria.
