Alex is a London-based associate in Ropes & Gray's antitrust team. Prior to joining the firm, Alex worked at leading international law firms in both London and Brussels. 

Alex's experience includes advising multinational and UK clients across a range of sectors in global antitrust investigations and cross-border merger control proceedings before the European Commission, the Competition and Markets Authority and other antitrust agencies globally. He also routinely advises clients on navigating antitrust rules in their commercial agreements and day-to-day conduct.

Besides his experience in private practice, Alex has been seconded to a leading FTSE 100 renewable energy company, where he advised in particular on securing merger control clearances in connection with the company's M&A strategy and on antitrust risks in joint venture and joint bidding scenarios.

  • Advised Novanta, a leading global supplier of core technologies for medical, life sciences and industrial original equipment manufacturers, in an agreement to acquire Riverpoint Medical, a leader in minimally invasive surgical consumables, for up to $1.45 billion.
  • Advised Eli Lilly on its $1.5 billion acquisition of Curevo Vaccine, a biotech company developing next-generation non-mRNA vaccines.
  • Advised Eli Lilly on its $1.6 billion acquisition of Vaccine Company, a biotech company developing vaccines targeting multiple viral pathogens, including Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV).
  • Advised Charlesbank Capital Partners and its portfolio company Tecomet in the merger agreement between Tecomet and Orchid Orthopedic Solutions.
  • Advised Charlesbank Capital Partners on the sale of Park Place Technologies, a global provider of data center services, to Service Express, a subsidiary of Warburg Pincus.
  • Advised Avista Healthcare Partners and its portfolio company Taconic Biosciences on the acquisition of TransCure bioServices SAS, a provider of preclinical research services utilizing humanized immune system (HIS) mouse models.
  • Advised Avista Healthcare Partners and its portfolio company PK Consumer Health on the acquisition of HealthAid Limited and HealthAid America Inc. (together, “HealthAid”), a leading supplier of high quality VMS products to independent pharmacies.
  • Advised Avista Healthcare Partners on its investment in PK Benelux, a key player in the market for vitamins, minerals, and supplements (VMS) in the Netherlands, through a strategic partnership.
  • Advised on antitrust aspects of Xerox’s $1.5 billion acquisition of Lexmark International.
  • Advised New Mountain Capital in its growth investment in Office Ally, a healthcare technology company providing a suite of cloud-based clearinghouse and software solutions to healthcare providers, partners, and health plans.
  • Advised a client in the technology hardware manufacturing space on managing antitrust risk in structuring its global distribution system.
  • Advised a client in the life sciences space on antitrust considerations in respect of its joint development and commercialization arrangements.
  • Advised a client in the life sciences space on antitrust considerations in respect of its distribution and licensing arrangements.
