Sculptor Capital Management announced on June 23 the final close of its fourth opportunistic real estate fund, Sculptor Real Estate Fund IV LP (SRE IV), with total capital commitments of $2.6 billion. Ropes & Gray advised Sculptor Capital on the fund.

Sculptor Real Estate was founded in 2003 to make investments in real estate and real estate related assets across North America and Europe. SRE IV will employ the same strategy of its predecessor funds, including, most recently Sculptor Real Estate Fund III, LP which had total capital commitments of $1.5 billion. SRE IV includes a diverse group of more than 100 limited partners committed to the fund, including public and private pension plans, financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and foundations, and family offices.

The Ropes & Gray team advising on SRE IV was led by asset management partner Matt Posthuma and included tax partner Kristen Winckler, asset management associate Anne Fox, and tax associate Chris Shim.
