Private Equity International has named Ropes & Gray private equity partner Elizabeth Todd in its PEI 40 under 40 Future Leaders of Private Equity class of 2022 listing – one of just five lawyers to be featured.

The annual list celebrates emerging talent, highlighting individuals set to play a leading role in the market in the years ahead, based on their strong leadership qualities, displays of innovation and skills and their potential to make a mark on the private equity industry.

Based in Ropes & Gray’s London office, Elizabeth regularly advises some of the largest global private capital investors, including private equity sponsors (and their portfolio companies), special situations funds, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds and family offices. She also counsels major international companies and financial institutions on a range of transactions and internal corporate activities.

Recent deals she has advised on include:

  • Advising TSG Consumer Partners on the acquisition of Cadogan Tate, the premium moving and storage business, specialising in fine art
  • Advising the funds affiliated with Baring Private Equity Asia on the acquisition of Tricor Group – Asia’s leading business expansion specialist – for an enterprise value of $2.76bn.
  • Advising SC Health Corp. on its merger with Rockley Photonics
  • Advised Inflexion and other shareholders (including the management team) on the sale of Reed & Mackay, a premium corporate travel management and events business, to TripActions, a U.S.-headquartered business travel and spend management platform

Earlier this year, Elizabeth was named by Law.com International as one of the UK’s best “Up and Coming Female Lawyers” and, in 2018, she was also identified by Law.com International as a “Rising Star” of the private equity legal industry.
