Long–awaited final “Stark” and Anti-kickback law rules released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will facilitate value-based financial arrangements among providers of health care products and services.

In a Bloomberg Law article, health care partner Tom Bulleit (Washington, D.C.) explains that although value-based payment arrangements have been making their way into the health-care industry despite the absence of some specific protections, he thinks the breadth these rules descriptions of what value-based arrangements are is likely to give people more comfort in pursuing such arrangements.
