In a New York Law Journal article, IP litigation partners Kevin Post and Steven Pepe and associate Cole Dunn (all of New York) examine the ways that parties can use two conventional standard-essential patent valuation methods to address challenges related to 5G technology standard licensing for Internet of Things products.

The authors explain that to resolve IoT SEP disputes efficiently, parties will need to understand SEP portfolio strength, industry licensing practices, diverse use cases, relative importance of the implementation of the technology to a given product, and 5G SEP pools.
