Daniel Ward joined Ropes & Gray in 2007 and is an associate in the Litigation Department. Dan has a wide range of experience in complex commercial disputes and securities litigation, including trial experience, with a particular focus on litigation involving residential mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities. His clients have included investment managers, hedge funds, REITs, public companies, and individual officers and directors. Dan’s pro bono practice has included the successful representation of political asylees in immigration court and tenants in housing court.
- State Street. Representing State Street Global Advisors in connection with ERISA and securities litigation arising from subprime mortgage exposure in their institutional funds.
- Hedge Funds. Advising several large and well-known hedge funds in connection with mortgage-backed securities litigation.
- Leading REIT. Representing a leading REIT in multiple regulatory and land use proceedings regarding portfolio properties located in Boston.
- Off-Label Marketing. Counsel to medical device manufacturer in connection with an investigation into off-label marketing practices.
- Antitrust. Represented a consumer products corporation as a member of a team that obtained merger clearance from the FTC.
