On March 27, retired partner Mark Szpak hosted an international group of attorneys, experts, and policymakers to discuss global industry trends and cybersecurity legal frameworks. The event was co-hosted by WorldBoston, a nonprofit organization focused on international affairs and topics affecting Boston and the world.
The group discussed worldwide approaches to cybersecurity risk and governance, as well as U.S. policy and efforts to secure an open, interoperable, and safe cyberspace. Participants also explored developments in cyber education, research, privacy rights, and civil liberties.
In addition to Boston-based attorneys from the firm’s data, privacy & cybersecurity practice, the session was attended by public and private-sector professionals from Albania, Austria, Beirut, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Ghana, India, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, the Philippines, Romania, Slovakia, and Uruguay. This event was part of an initiative devised by WorldBoston in partnership with the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program.
