Seven Ropes & Gray Attorneys to Present at Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Ethics and Compliance Congress

Seven Ropes & Gray attorneys will present at five sessions at the 24th Annual Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Ethics and Compliance Congress at National Harbor, Maryland October 25—27.

The forum for compliance professionals, legal counsel, regulators and industry consultants covers pharmaceutical and medical device topics including key laws, regulations, guidance and policy developments, among others.

Attorneys participating in the Congress include:

  • Health care partners Eve Brunts and Margaux Hall and health care counsel Alison Fethke will present on the panel titled “Alternative Funding Vendors: The Future and Options for Responding to New Challenges to Patient Support Programs.” The session provides an overview of established and emerging practices that seek to use patient assistance programs as alternative funding sources and outline options for responding to the practices.
  • Samantha Barrett Badlam, litigation & enforcement partner, will moderate the “Legal Risks Around Digital Health Technology” panel. The discussion will examine how implementing digital health tool specific systems will involve companies navigating risk areas such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, fraud and abuse, Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, privacy and security and data related risks.
  • Beth Weinman, life sciences regulatory & compliance counsel, will moderate the panel titled “DOJ Agreements, Dual Reporting and the Role of the Compliance Officer.” The panel will address the increased risk associated with the evolution of the U.S. Department of Justice’s role in compliance agreements and post-resolution compliance monitoring and offer recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Christine Moundas, health care partner, will speak on the panel titled “Pixels and Privacy: Navigating the Litigation and Enforcement Landscape of Website and Mobile App Privacy.” Christine serves as co-lead of the firm’s digital health initiative that advises on key issues posed by the rapid convergence of technology, health care, medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
  • Shannon Capone Kirk, managing principal and global head, advanced e-discovery and AI strategy, will participate in an industry cross functional roundtable panel on “The Rising Stakes of Data Governance and How Companies are Responding.”
