On January 25, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. ET, anticorruption and international risk partners Ama Adams and Brendan Hanifin will discuss the new Corporate Transparency Act and related rules requiring ownership and control person reporting to FinCEN for LLCs and other entities. The reporting rules went into effect January 1.
The virtual and interactive discussion, hosted by alternative asset management industry association MFA, will examine what exemptions from reporting exist for certain private funds, and what exemptions FinCEN did not grant to subsidiaries and other entities. A consortium of law firms have jointly issued Industry Guidance for the private funds industry on the beneficial ownership reporting requirements.
