Health care partner Brett Friedman will present at a Digital Health New York panel on Oct. 30 entitled “The Rubber Hits the Road: Operationalizing Health-Related Social Needs/Social Care Networks and Global Budgets Through the NY 1115 Medicaid Waiver.”
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved an amendment to New York’s Medicaid 1115 Waiver, allowing the state to make large investments of approximately $7.5 billion in funding over the next three years across a series of Medicaid initiatives that expand access to primary and behavioral health, address health-related social needs to reduce disparities and promote health equity, and strengthen the health care workforce.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced that nine organizations would receive a total of $500 million in awards over the next three years to create a new Social Care Network (SCN) program.
Brett and the panelists will address critical aspects of the amendment and SCNs and discuss how organizations, including health plans, medical groups, independent physician associations and others, can prepare under the New York Medicaid 1115 Waiver and CMS programs and position themselves well for these new funding opportunities.
