María González Calvet, co-chair of the anti-corruption and international risk practice and Latin America practice, will moderate a panel at Latin Lawyer and GIR Live Anti-Corruption & Investigations Brazil on October 23. The session, titled “Combatting corruption: LatAm’s latest efforts,” will bring together practitioners from Argentina, Bolivia, Mexico, and Peru to examine the latest legal and enforcement developments across the region.
The panel will explore notable legal and regulatory reforms, including corporate liability frameworks and whistleblower protections; key anti-corruption and related enforcement trends; the impact of political dynamics on prosecutorial priorities and institutional independence; and the outlook for future enforcement and convergence in compliance expectations.
Panelists include Ricardo Cacho (Counsel, Von Wobeser y Sierra), Liliana Calderon (Partner, Benites, Vargas & Ugaz Abogados), Maximiliano D’Auro (Partner, Beccar Varela), and Lindsay Sykes (Co-Managing Partner, PPO Indacochea).
María will also host the event’s networking luncheon, of which Ropes & Gray is a sponsor.
