Ropes & Gray Attorneys to Moderate Sessions at 2026 International Bar Association World Life Sciences Conference

Ropes & Gray attorneys will co-moderate sessions at the 12th Annual International Bar Association (IBA) World Life Sciences Conference in Lisbon, Portugal on June 3–5, 2026.

On June 4, partner Lincoln Tsang, head of the firm’s European life sciences practice, will co-moderate the hot topic roundtable “Cooperations between and vertical integration of Pharma/Medtech and Hospitals/Clinics/Pharmacies.” This session centers on the opportunities and challenges presented by vertical integration between pharmaceutical/medtech companies and healthcare delivery organizations, focusing on how such integration can impact patient access, operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, data management, and financial sustainability, while emphasizing the need for robust safeguards and strategies to ensure ethical collaboration and value creation for all stakeholders.

On June 4, life sciences regulatory and compliance counsel Beth Weinman will co-moderate a panel titled “Clinical trials: current trends and perspectives at a global level.” This session will explore how clinical trials are evolving amid technological innovation and shifting regulatory expectations. Speakers will address cross-border challenges, decentralized and e-trial models, real-world evidence integration, AI's growing role, and participant-centric trial designs. The panel will also examine international harmonization efforts and key legal and compliance implications for sponsors, investigators, HCOs, patients, and authorities.
