Minal Caron Presented at 2026 Association of Research Integrity Officers National Conference

On September 29, health care and higher education counsel Minal Caron presented at the 2026 Association of Research Integrity Officers National Conference, serving as a panelist for the plenary session titled “Lobbying, Legislation and Litigation: Oh My! The External Drivers of Change in Research Integrity.”

The session explored the impact of lobbying and legislative efforts in the research ethics and integrity space to support and modify standards and norms, as well as perceived shifts in research integrity matters towards enforcement and away from a focus on “correcting the record.” The panelists also discussed the relationship between recent developments and trends in research misconduct and developments and trends in other areas of research compliance, such as conflicts of interest and research security and renewed attention by federal agencies on the Stevens Amendment, a provision passed by Congress in 1989 that requires federal grantees to include specific grant information in their publications and other grant-supported materials.
