Life sciences counsel Katherine Wang (Shanghai) led a medical device roundtable with speakers from McKinsey & Company in Shanghai on April 25. Life sciences legal consultant Xiaoyi Liu (Shanghai) also attended. The roundtable brought together senior in-house counsel and business leaders from multinational medical device companies to discuss best compliance practices and the business implications under China’s recent shifts in regulatory and policy trends. After presenting lessons learned from several anti-corruption investigations in the life sciences industry, the government enforcement team led a lively discussion among in-house counsel and business leaders. Katherine Wang then highlighted recent China Food and Drug Association (CFDA) initiatives affecting commercial operations of medical device companies in China. The attendees also shared valuable insights and opinions on the topics of discussion.
