With one of the world’s premier private equity platforms—spanning private funds and private equity transactions—Ropes & Gray today announced new leadership for its market-leading corporate practices, strengthening the firm’s ability to deliver faster, more integrated, and more insight-driven support to clients navigating a dynamic deal environment. David Blittner has been named Corporate Group Leader, and Amanda McGrady Morrison and Michael Lee will serve as co-leaders of the firm’s private capital transactions practice.

“We are driven to deliver the best possible client outcomes—with speed, clarity, and seamless execution on every transaction,” said Julie Jones, Chair of Ropes & Gray. “This leadership team will help our clients move even faster, make more informed decisions, and capture opportunity in all market conditions.”

In 2025, Ropes & Gray represented more than 83 private equity firms and advised on over 300 private equity transactions totaling approximately $175 billion in value, including 39 transactions exceeding $1 billion—experience that gives clients a real-time view of market terms, competitive dynamics, and emerging structures.

As Corporate Group Leader, David Blittner will guide firmwide strategy, innovation, and lateral growth across complex transactional practices. In his new role, David, who led the global Private Capital Transactions group since December 2017, will drive an even more connected approach across the firm’s practice areas and clients.

“Clients want a fully connected team that partners with them to understand their business and anticipates the full arc of any matter—from structuring and financing to regulatory and restructuring considerations,” said David Blittner. “Our role is to seamlessly deliver the full power of Ropes & Gray so clients can act with confidence, mitigate risk earlier, and achieve better outcomes.”

Newly appointed co-leaders of the private capital transactions practice, Amanda McGrady Morrison and Michael Lee, bring complementary strengths that expand the firm’s ability to support clients at every phase of the investment lifecycle. Morrison brings significant M&A experience as well as an insider perspective from her senior in-house role at Advent, coupled with 14 years as a Ropes & Gray private equity partner. Lee adds deep finance experience, leadership of the infrastructure industry group, and longstanding sponsor relationships.

“Integrated execution gives clients a real edge—more liquidity, less risk, and faster results,” said Michael Lee. “When M&A, financing, and secondaries run in sync, clients gain earlier insight and the momentum to outpace the market.”

“In a fast-moving private capital market, we partner with clients to deliver results and drive value creation—across take-privates, carve-outs, sponsor-to-sponsor deals, continuation solutions, and other strategic exits,” added Amanda McGrady Morrison. “With deep sector insight and an investor’s perspective, we help clients make sharper decisions and capture opportunities as they emerge.”
