IP Litigation partner Jim Batchelder (Silicon Valley) led a discussion on evidentiary issues at the California Trial Evidence 2016 program in San Francisco, sponsored by the Practising Law Institute (PLI). The Oct. 27 program emphasized the need to master the complexities of California evidence due to recent case law and statutory developments. Mr. Batchelder co-led a discussion on evidentiary issues arising in connection with experts, focusing on missteps by experts and their sponsoring counsel that can render expert testimony vulnerable to exclusion and powerful impeachment. IP Litigation associate Jolene Wang (New York) took the lead in preparing program content. Other panelists included the Hon. Tracie Brown, Hon. Jeffrey White, Hon. Laurel Beeler and private practitioners.
