In a Jan. 24 article published by Compliance Reporter titled “Interval funds: how they got here and where they’re going,” asset management partner David Sullivan discusses interval funds, including their benefits. “Interval funds have the flavor of open-end mutual funds with respect to marketing and distribution, but are a type of closed-end fund under the 1940 Act,” said Mr. Sullivan. However, some interval funds have gotten SEC exemptive relief for one-month redemption intervals, noted Mr. Sullivan.
