- TPG Capital announced its acquisition of Entertainment Partners, a provider of production workforce management and automated production software and services to the entertainment industry. Ropes & Gray advised TPG Capital.
- The firm and its partners were honored with prestigious awards that recognize Ropes & Gray’s practices and lawyers as leaders in transactional work:
- Two private equity partners, Tsuyoshi Imai and Will Shields, who advised on Asia’s largest-ever leveraged buyout, were named “Dealmakers of the Year” by The American Lawyer. Mr. Imai and Mr. Shields guided a Bain Capital-led consortium in its $18 billion buyout of Toshiba’s memory chip business.
- The Deal named life sciences partner Marc Rubenstein a “Healthcare & Pharma Dealmaker of the Year” at its Middle Market Awards. Marc’s recent accomplishments include advising Bain Capital on the creation of Cerevel Therapeutics, and representing Vertex Pharmaceuticals in a strategic co-development and co-commercialization agreement with CRISPR Therapeutics. The publication also honored Ropes & Gray’s global life sciences practice with a “Healthcare & Pharma Deal of the Year” for the creation of Cerevel Therapeutics.
- Private equity partner Minh-Chau Le has been named one of The Deal’s “Top 21 New M&A Law Partners” as a rising star in M&A. Ms. Le has been recognized for work on behalf of the Bain Capital-led consortium in its $18 billion buyout of Toshiba’s memory chip business, Altamont Capital Partners in its majority investment in Sequel Youth and Family Services, and TPG Capital LP in its acquisition of Mediware Information Systems Inc.
