The challenging fundraising environment has prompted GPs to increasingly seek investments from smaller investors, Private Equity International highlighted in an article published on June 20. The piece, titled “GPs cater to family office needs as institutional capacity wanes,” outlines the emergence of family offices and private wealth investors as a burgeoning LP base and includes insights from asset management partner and Hong Kong office OMP Vincent Ip.

“GPs are very noticeably turning their attention to high-net-worth investors in [Asia-Pacific],” Vince states in the piece. “The process is often highly intermediated and there’s typically not much negotiation done through distributors, such as private banks – they are primarily focused on economics or fee concessions on aggregate.”
