IP transactions partner Erica L. Han was featured in a Dec. 1 Axios article on how copyright law must catch up to the rapid evolution of AI technology.
Questions remain on the law's application to AI, but Erica noted that "U.S. copyright law has proven quite versatile to adapting to new technologies."
"Similar sentiments arose throughout history after the creation of technologies such as cameras and VCRs," Erica said. She added that "generative AI poses new and very interesting copyright questions," but "the basic principles of copyright law are sound."
