In a Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance article, attorneys examined a new bill that would impact California greenhouse gas emissions disclosures. The bill is among other things intended to help California achieve its 2045 carbon reduction goals by enabling it to better measure progress against its targets.
The authors note the bill is still at its very early stages. Therefore, it is too early to predict whether the bill will move forward and what it will ultimately look like if it does so.
The article was authored by partner Michael Littenberg, global head of the firm’s ESG, CSR and Business and Human Rights compliance practice, capital markets counsel Marc Rotter and ESG, CSR and business and human rights associate Peter Witschi.
