In a Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics article, health care counsel Leslie Thornton and health care partner Mark Barnes discussed managing multi-institutional jurisdiction in cases of research misconduct.
The article explores the challenges of determining jurisdictional roles in research misconduct matters in collaborative science and proposes the application of a “jurisdictional interests test” as a framework for determining jurisdiction in multi-institutional research misconduct proceedings.
The article was co-authored by professor Barbara Bierer of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
