In a Dow Jones MarketWatch article, capital markets counsel Marc Rotter discussed the outlook for moving stocks and bonds onto a blockchain, or to create tokenized versions of them that can be traded, transferred and tracked using the same technology driving cryptocurrencies.
Marc notes that a shift from the current trading system to an exclusive blockchain system would be a paradigm shift with changes required for issuers, investors and intermediaries throughout the whole securities trading ecosystem. “It would take a lot of time to develop the right systems and put it into place,” said Marc.
