Partner and global head of the firm’s ESG, CSR and business and human rights compliance practice Michael Littenberg commented in a October 25, 2025, New York Times article on a new lawsuit challenging two California laws requiring large companies to disclose the greenhouse gas emissions that result from the use of their products and their risks tied to climate change.
Michael told The New York Times that the filing raised the question of whether there would be a “pile-on effect” of other companies bringing similar challenges. He added that the California Air Resources Board “has not shown any appetite” to delay implementing the laws, and he expects companies to continue preparing to comply with them.
