In a Managing Intellectual Property article, chief legal talent officer Amy Ross and partner Megan Baca, co-chair of the IP transactions practice, discussed how AI is changing law firm attorney training strategies.
Ropes & Gray has launched TrAIlblazers, a program that allows first-year associates to devote 20 percent (approximately 400 hours) of their billable time to learning artificial intelligence tools.
Amy noted that the firm will always be dedicated to hiring and training the next generation of top lawyers. “But the work that first-year associates will do will evolve as AI continues to change the practice of law,” said Amy.
Megan explained that IP transactions attorneys recently held an IP hack-a-thon to test the firm’s AI tools including Hebbia, Harvey, Centauri and the firm’s version of ChatGPT, R2G2.
