Ropes & Gray has advised Danish pension funds PensionDanmark and AP Pension on their anchor investment in ETNA Fund I, a newly established Danish-German defence fund with a European focus. Together with AkademikerPension, they are committing a total of €220 million at the fund’s initial closing.
ETNA is dedicated to strengthening Europe's resilience through investments in the defence industry, cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure. The fund's founders are a Danish-German team with extensive expertise in strengthening growth companies across sectors.
The fund has an investment mandate across Europe with a particular focus on the Nordic region, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by asset management partner Chris Townsend with support from associates Alistair Renton and Calum Foster, and trainee Yinn Wong.
