Ropes & Gray Strengthens European Platform with Addition of Top Milan Lawyer, Alessandro Capogrosso

Global law firm Ropes & Gray announced today that Alessandro Capogrosso, a highly regarded capital markets, private equity and M&A lawyer, has joined the firm as a partner based in its Milan office. Alessandro’s arrival further builds the firm’s transactional strength in Italy and underscores its commitment to supporting clients across Europe.

Alessandro is a distinguished corporate lawyer with extensive experience advising on capital markets, private equity, and M&A. He is particularly noted for his work with global financial sponsors, investment banks, and other financial institutions on complex domestic and cross-border private and public M&A deals. He also regularly counsels clients on business combinations, tender offers, leveraged buy-outs, IPOs, rights issues, and private placements of equity and debt securities.

Alessandro joins Ropes & Gray's Milan office, which launched in September 2025 in response to increasing client demand for the firm's cross-border expertise. He joins private equity partners Giorgia Lugli and Luca Maranetto. The opening of the office marked a significant step in Ropes & Gray's strengthening of its European platform, building on the established strength of its London and Paris offices.
