In the American Health Law Association (AHLA) “Speaking of Health Law” podcast, health care and data partner Christine Moundas, co-head of the firm’s digital health initiative, discussed the new landscape of U.S. state consumer data privacy laws and how life sciences, medical device and direct-to-consumer digital health companies can comply with these new requirements.
In the podcast titled “New State Consumer Data Privacy Laws: Implications for Life Sciences and Medical Device Companies,” Christine discussed topics including the applicability thresholds under the U.S. state consumer data privacy laws, the compliance obligations that businesses should prioritize, and the new set of consumer data privacy rights that are granted under these laws. With nearly half the states in the country implementing these new laws in the past five years, this new area of law requires the attention of companies across the country.
