Ropes & Gray represented Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe as a leading member of a consortium that has agreed to acquire all outstanding shares of Select Medical Holdings Corporation (NYSE: SEM), one of the largest operators of critical illness recovery hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and outpatient rehabilitation clinics in the United States based on number of facilities. The merger consideration represents an enterprise value of $3.9 billion and was announced on March 2 in a press release.
