In a Bloomberg Law article, Elizabeth Reza, a member of the firm's policy committee and a partner in the asset management group, and Patrick Ryan, director of legal knowledge management, discussed Ropes & Gray's initiatives to train junior associates on the use of AI in their daily legal work.

The article highlighted the firm's registered funds practice, where two first-year associates present monthly to partners on how they have used AI, including one example of quickly analyzing an unfamiliar agreement type against public SEC filings. "Seeing a first-year be sort of 'seniorized' very quickly in that way was exciting for everyone else," said Elizabeth.

The piece also spotlighted the firm's TrAIlblazer Cup competition, in which associates and summer associates built AI-driven workflows and solutions. "Nobody tried to solve for a giant bot that solves every problem," said Patrick. "They honed in on processes they are involved in."
