Ropes & Gray's First Year in Italy and Plans for Growth Featured in Milano Finanza

Milano Finanza spoke with Cataldo Piccarreta, co-head of Ropes & Gray's European private equity practice, about the firm's first anniversary in Italy and its continued growth. In just one year, the Milan team has more than tripled, growing from 15 to 50 lawyers and staff members. Over that time, it has advised on high-profile mandates for both existing and new clients, with work including mid-market transactions and some of the few billion-euro-plus deals completed in Italy.

The firm plans to keep making targeted hires, strengthening its finance capabilities and its support for large Italian companies pursuing cross-border M&A. Reflecting its expansion and long-term commitment to Italy, the team moves to a new office on Via Silvio Pellico in January.
